Synopsis of Azhagi (The Beauty is the Beast)

The story is about a young princess named, Azhagi who thinks that she is the most beautiful person in this world. She did grow up to be the most beautiful lady in the entire kingdom but hardly anyone liked her for her boastful and arrogant character. She was vicious, inhuman, nasty, disrespectful, arrogant and extremely proud. Azhagi had a younger sister, who was apparently not as pretty as Azhagi but she had a heart of gold and everyone loved her courteous and giving nature.

One fine day, there was a welcome feast in the Solluvain kingdom for a young prince, from the neighbouring kingdoms. Azhagi was very excited about the feast and was all prepared to make him get mesmerized by her beauty. But the prince was deeply moved by the patience and warmth shown to him by Azaghi’s sister. After observing the prince and her sister display of attraction to each other, Azhagi gets furious and makes a scene in the feast.

Seeing how atrocious Azhagi have grown up to be, the fairy godmother decided to teach Azhagi a lesson about life. So the fairy godmother changed Azhagi into a smelly gal with torn clothes and deserted her and put a spell on everybody that they completely forget Azaghi’s existence. Azaghi desperately identifies herself to everybody in the kingdom but everyone rejects and chased her. She had to soon leave the kingdom.

Azhagi approaches different people in the street asking for help but everyone pushed her away as well. Finally she meets Sanjay, a young handsome man who believes in living a peaceful yet meaningful life. Sanjay helped her to and brought her to his home. Sanjay’s siblings took great care and showered her with lots of love. Azhagi soon felt at home at home. Observing Sanjay and his sibling’s humble and loving lifestyle and how helpful and welcoming they are at all times to everybody, made Azaghi think. Azhagi learned the true meaning of life on how being beautiful at heart is more important thank looking beautiful. On seeing Azaghi learned her lesson the fairy god mother made her beautiful again and restored her place in the palace.
